iPHone 5c won't let me delete emails

Trying for the second time to get this to post Grrrr

My iPhone 5c won't let me delete emails. It has always been this way. Tried looking at settings for phone and sonic webmail ; nothing relevant. When I look at an email and tap the Trash button it says: Unable to move message. The message could not be moved to the mailbox Trash". No one can figure out what is wrong. Help!

My spouse encountered that. We found this solution, which solved the problem. Note the screen shots and path are from an older version of iOS, but there should be enough information that you can follow along and make the necessary change.

OK, I see the part of your reply that says you found a solution but not the actual steps of the solution.
