Greetings,

We need to certify that our software will run on IPv6, and we're a little out of our league on this.
I believe that all we need to do is have it get an IPv6 IP and then tunnel over our own IPv4 network.

I bought a new Linksys that can speak IPv6 and put it and a test system on our DMZ, but it only wants to give out IPv4 addresses.

I'm not sure what it needs

In the Linksys:
I set IPv6 Automatic to Disabled
Set 6rd to manual
Entered in the sonic.net prefix: 2602:0240::
Prefix length 28
Border relay: 186.23.144.1
IPv4 mask length: 0

Trouble is that I don't know how to tell if it's working.
If I turn off IPv4 it doesn't work (can't reach the internet and doesn't have a gateway.

Do you have a Sonic Pace gateway? If so, check Member Tools, in the connection section to enable IPv6.

I don't see how you'd get certified when Sonic.net doesn't support IPv6 yet.

6rd abruptly stopped working for me a few weeks ago.

It's up in Member Tools now, in the connection section. Currently available for single line customers, support integration for the bonded modem will come soon.

Unfortunately we don't have a Pace Gateway - if we need one let me know.
We have a fiber connection and we're not allowed to touch the AT&T router (which is frustrating).
We instead have a Dell Sonicwall Router which is new enough it should have no issue with iPv6. (We made sure that part was on.)

We did steer around this issue by creating our own IPv6 network and making sure that our software will work over it, but, in the future, it would be nice to see it working over the internet.

Ah, sounds like you have an enterprise fiber product. Please contact the NOC for assistance.

Ok thanks. The message said "Please don't contact tech support about IPv6" but I didn't realize that enterprise connections were a different thing. When the government contract negotiations come up again we will definitely do that.
