Hi,

I am a current subscriber to Sonic.net. I am trying to set up SIP-based voice-over-IP (VoIP) at my home. So far, the quality of the voice is not good. I was wondering if it has to do with QoS settings in my ZTE DSL modem (the one that Sonic.net provides). Does anyone have experience configuring it properly for the best VoIP quality?

Also, is there another DSL modem you'd recommend for this type of application? I use a separate WiFi access point from Ubiquiti Networks so I am looking for a very good DSL modem without built-in a WiFi accsess point. I can get a separate router if needed.

Thanks a lot.

For help with VoIP, you might have better luck in the forum over at dslreports:

Also, since Sonic offers plain old telephone service as part of their Fusion package, I hope you're not trying to diagnose problems with it as if it were VoIP.
