I have been running several mailman lists for more than ten years, but this morning I experienced an unusual issue with a list that I've been using since 2005 (I think).
I have a list with subscribers from around the globe--including China and Russia. I moderate the list to avoid spam being sent to people. This morning I received a message from a Chinese subscriber. I checked the message to ensure it was legitimate, and then I released it. The log for the list shows that the message was sent and it appears in the archive for the list--but the message appears to have "vanished".
The message was released at 9:59 a.m. this morning. My e-mail address is among those subscribed to the list, so I normally expect to see the message show up in my inbox within 10-15 minutes. It's now 3:24 p.m. and there is still no sign of the message. I called tech support and they said they can see that the message was sent--but they can see no sign that the message was received in my incoming mail (as a distribution from the list).
I'm going to cut and paste the message from China into another message that I will send to the list --just o see if it gets distributed, but in the meanwhile, does anyone have any idea why this message might have "vanished"? Tech support gave up on this and suggested I post the problem here.
