Newsserver saying "host connection limit reached"...

Hi... I've used Forté Agent for years to access newsgroups via news.sonic.net.

Tonight, I've been getting this error:

Error reported by server: 400 nnrp1.nntp.sonic.net: Your host connection limit reached - [email protected].

I'm not doing anything differently with Agent (and I'm the only one in the house accessing Usenet). Is there an issue with the newsserver? ...thanks!

Have you tried restarting Agent/your computer? I've had issues with either my usenet client or the server keeping connections open when they shouldn't be, restarting one or the other usually fixes.

Yes, I did restart. The only thing I didn't try is forcing a new IP address on my connection, because I didn't want to interrupt some other transfers in progress.

If it's any consolation, I was receiving the same error with various clients. I believe the issue was with the server.

Thanks. I was away for the next week, but when I returned the following weekend, I no longer encountered the error.
