I am not a doctor, I am not a lawyer either but when I walk in to a doctor's office, they give me a document to sign that authorizes them to send my information in electronic format. After reading that doc. my assumption is that the signature gives the office leeway to be not compliant. Does your office have such a document? has any lawyer read it?
