Hi
Using Filezilla I have uploaded all the files for a website that opens fine on home browser but online two html files and 5 image files are not opening/showing. When I look in the directory for the server all the files are there, and I end re-uploaded them just to be sure. Any thoughts?

Without being able to see the files involved, it's hard to give anything except general advice.

- Ensure the uploaded files are in the path as specified by the HTML that is looking for them.

- Ensure the file names are exactly the same as the HTML specifies, including case, underscores, etc.

Thank you.
I did do that. I thought I would go back to the original versions and redo all the file names, etc. in case I'm not able to see a discrepancy...although I have no way to check while I work since everything opens fine on my computer's browser, and having only dial-up I have to schlep into town to actually upoad. Is there be a simple to use validator online that I might be able to check my files on? The file are up on sonic, but looking at the source code only shows the request side and not the files that are failing to show. Thank you, again. Heidi ....heidifreestone.com

Heidi,

One possibility is that you have two copies of the site uploaded. By default, Sonic.net puts each hosted website in its own sub-folder under your public_html. (Actual directory is /home/WWW_pages/your_username/)

You can check to see if the right directory is being used by accessing the site at:

http://sonic.net/~gogarden/heidifreestone.com

Hopefully, these tips can help you find the missing files.
I'm a proud employee of Sonic.net! :-)

I didn't see anything obvious from the file names. You're sure that "critter-control.html" and "solar-oven-directions.html" and "couple.html" are in the same server directory as index.html? The file names don't have underscores instead of hyphens?

Thank you...
I did have the pages going to more than one directory. Solved that, now different parts aren't showing, that were showing before. I'll keep poking away at it...make sure file names and directories are good. Heidi
