Hi!
I am developing a web site in Wordpress on the Sonic servers. Our domain is also hosted at sonic.

The dns records for our domain are currently pointing to web hosting on a remote server. I'd like to know how to change them back to the proper dns records so you are the web host.

I don't want to do this until the weekend. So I don't want to switch it right now. I just want to be ready for switching it.

Thank you!

I'll be happy to give you a few pointers!

To change the DNS records for your website, you'll want to navigate to:

Web Sites / Domain Names --> Edit DNS --> Modify Host Records

on our Member Tools site, then click on
the 'Modify' button next to the domain name you're going to update.

* Pro-tip: You can click the 'Export Zone' button near the bottom of the page
to get a copy of all current DNS records for the domain. This is handy to
have saved and/or printed for reference in case you make a mistake.
(It's also fine to print the view in Member Tools, just make sure your
web browser and/or printer don't accidentally omit/cut off part of the
page!)

Most of the time, what you will be looking for are the 'A' type record(s) that just
have the domain name in the 'Name' column. (i.e. if your domain is example.com,
you'll be looking for entries that have only the Name 'example.com' and Type 'A').
Sonic only assigns a single 'A' record for hosted websites, so you should only need to
click the 'Edit' button for the record and set the 'Record' field to the new IP address.

Given that your website is part of the World Wide Web, you may also need to change
the 'www' record, which is usually just a 'CNAME' type with the Record value being
the domain name. (i.e. the record named www.example.com has a Type of 'CNAME'
and a Record of 'example.com')

If you need the IP address or would like help using Member Tools, please feel free
to give our Customer Support team a call.
