MySQL 5.5 Migration Issues

I created the 5.5 database, and although I couldn't get the line command to populate it with my backup.sql file I simply imported each of my old tables (only four of them) in the MySQL format. Looks like it is populated okay now.

Do I need to change the PHP connection file on my website or will the redirection of the DNS address allow my site to function normally after Dec 6.

You should update the PHP connection file on your website, so that you can test that your application behaves as you expect it to before the December 6 deadline.
