I presently have Sonic Fusion X1 service and receive q download speed of about 6.0 Mbps. If I upgraded to Fusion X2 service what download speed would I expect? When I called customer service, they would only commit to at least double my present download speed. Does anyone have some experience that they can share?

The Fusion X2 service is correctly named X2 for a reason. This is because it pretty much doubles your speed. This is due to another copper line going to your phone box. Since you are getting 6mbps currently on one copper line adding another will combo together to get around 12mbps. The around part is based on certain factors such as distance to the central office or CO and copper quality.

The distance to the CO should be about the same for two lines, but the quality might differ a bit more. They would be similar, but they are never the same. Here's what I see for my two lines:

Line 1 is up and in sync at 1019kbps up and 3680kbps down.
Line 2 is up and in sync at 999kbps up and 3271kbps down.
