Is there a program for low-income, senior citizens? A single, senior lady currently has AT&T's Universal Lifeline service but she needs a broadband service.

Thanks.

No, I'm afraid not. Because Fusion is a bundle that includes broadband as well as phone, and because the phone service is not local-only, it is not eligible for the state and federal subsidies.

Hi Dane,

Just to clarify a bit. If she's willing to cancel her AT&T to get a fusion plan from Sonic.net, she'll not find a discount program in Sonic.net as she has now from AT&T. Is this correct? If yes, is there other option for her from Sonic?

Thanks.

The Fusion phone & internet offering is a single price point. We have no incentive programs available for students, retirees, or non-profits other than the single price.

Yes, this is correct.

One point to make regarding switching: customers switching broadband or phone providers should never cancel their current service, they should instead switch to the new service. Cancelling the existing service rather than switching will result in the loss of the telephone number, and potentially substantial down time.

Comcast now (4/1/2020) has a low cost broadband internet plan for low income people. The catch is you can not have been a subscriber for the previous 90 days, or owe them money

ATT offers 10 mb download and 1 mb upload speeds for 10 bucks per month. Just prove EBT, SSI or other documents. Includes Router for direct ethernet connection and wi-fi, does not include phone or phone service. For phone get lifeline. These speeds are all you need for email, surfing, tv and most things but gaming and large uploads. Or wait for Sonic to realize that we low income people are a profitable market. Pretty soon, I bet. Also, get Amazon Prime for 6 bucks and change with same documents.

If you switch to a large ISP, I recommend you also invest in a quality VPN...for the sake of your privacy.
