I was surprised that it took ~7 hours for a message from me to a Yahoo Group to get back to me as a member.

Help me interpret where the delay occurred.

I sent the message on Wed Jun 27 16:50:24 2018

I find this in the Source Code (Full Headers) for the message back to me:

Time zone difference?

You sent the message at 16:50 in the pacific time zone. Right now it is daylight savings time, so we are UTC-7 (7 hours behind UTC). Therefore your message was sent at 23:50 in UTC. That's all visible in the received headers: your message was received by Yahoo at "23:50:36 -0000" (that's the bottommost received line). Good. Then it took 3 seconds (until 23:50:39 -0000) bouncing around inside Yahoo. There must be some received lines missing here, because the next thing we see is the message showing up at a machine which is inside Yahoo but has "sonic" it its name at 23:50:49 +0000, ten seconds later. The next received line is already inside Sonic at 16:50:52 -0700, three seconds later. Then spam checking the message took 11 seconds (until 16:51:03 -0700).

The very first received line I can't understand: "From - Wed Jun 27 19:10:35 2018" . That's not a validly formatted mail header line. It is also a little over 2 hours later (assuming that it is in local time here on the Pacific coast).

But I don't see 7 hour delays, only 7 hour time zone difference.

My email client, Thunderbird, inserts that header into every message it downloads from the server, showing the time it was downloaded.

This, along with the other headers, implies to me that the message was delivered to baumjwb's mailbox at 16:51:03, and retrieved from his mailbox by his email client at 19:10:35, a bit less than 2:20 later.
