Does Sonic.net's SpamAssassin get notified of email messages that we mark as "spam" when viewing mail through the web interface, so that SpamAssassin gets "trained" about new stupid spammer tricks?

If yes, does moving a message to the spam folder in IMAP accomplish the same thing? ...thanks!

Unfortunately the answer is "no" to both questions.

Training with the level of messages we see would require a whole heap of hardware, and proved to be too expensive to do for all of our customers.

I manually train my filters via the "Modify Scores" Member Tool:

Thanks. What's your process? Inspecting the SA headers in a message, then adjusting the scores for the significant rules that were flagged in the message?

Exactly, and white listing any addresses that make into my Graymail.

I also have Thunderbird filtering message into my Graymail folder.

Thanks. I already was whitelisting, although I'm getting very few false positives.

Hadn't thought about having T-bird direct junk into the graymail folder. Currently, I'm using POP3, but if/when I switch to IMAP, I think I'll follow your lead. Thanks for the tip!
