ACK setting on mailman

HI, we have a new list on mailman and one of our members wants to receive acknowledgment of his posts, and although I have nodupes set for the group, his setting is unchecked and should allow acknowledgement, can you advise?
His setting:
ACK checked
nodupes unchecked.

I'm not sure I fully understand, if your list member wishes to receive acknowledgments of his posts to the list, then you can check the "ack" box -- I tested this and it works fine with "ack" checked and "nodupes" checked.

He says he is not receiving the dupes though. Not sure what to do.

I just tested on a test list of mine, and setting nodupes and ack worked as expected for me.

That is:

With nodupes checked; send an e-mail to your subscribed address and the list address, you should only see one of those messages in your Inbox.

With nodupes un-checked send an e-mail to your subscribed address and the list address, you should see both of those messages in your Inbox.
