We've added two factor authentication to Member Tools in order to better secure your account and service. This is great for residential users wanting to add an additional layer of account security, or for business/enterprise customers wishing to give multiple users member tools access.
In addition to logging in with your account password, this adds a second layer of security via text message, voice call, or a one-time password using OTP Auth.
Here's what it looks like when you attempt to log in to your account with two factor auth enabled:
OTP (one-time password) authentication works with any time based OTP app including Google Authenticator, FreeOTP Authenticator, and Microsoft Authenticator to name a few.
Use the app on your mobile device to generate time-sensitive passwords for logging in to your account. Here's what Google Authenticator looks like:
To get started, log in to Member Tools and navigate to Account >> Member Information or click here.
Important Note: Make sure to add at least one reliable form of authentication! If you lose access, you'll have to call support in order to get two factor auth disabled on your account. You are also free to turn it off and back on at any time without removing any of the authentication methods you've added.
We welcome any suggestions and feedback as usual. Thanks!
