My service was started from Oct. 2015.

As far as I know, the monthly billing is the base fee $53.00 plus taxes, I got my bills in the past three months -
Nov. 2015- $54.69
Dec. 2015 - $55.78
Jan. 2016 - $57.22

According tho the pace of increments above, it will be no surprise to see the total go up to $60.00 and beyond Soon. It seems no pricing advantage at all in a 12-month contract term.

Is anyone here at forum experiencing the similar situation like mine?

Is there a upper bound for my monthly billing?

In other words, for each month, is there no 'Fixed' but only 'floating' taxes which is really a black box to me?

Many thanks for detailed explanations and answers in advance!

The taxes changed in your area and Sonic wasn't charging you the correct amount. Your January bill includes a Tax Adjustment to compensate for the discrepancy on your November bill (we didn't charge enough in Taxes on your November bill). The adjustment was about $1.50. Your invoice from here on out will look more like your December invoice, around $56.

EDIT: regarding your question about FIXED and FLOATING taxes - usually taxes are determined on a quarterly basis. These taxes are dictated by the State and Federal Government so I'm not sure what the upper limit would be, if there is one.

Thanks for your kind reply and explanation.

Although I'd like to figure out what exact tax rate (%) was from Nov. to Jan., I guess I could just let the math rest aside for now.

Based on what was explained, hopefully starting from my next bills (Feb. 2016 and beyond), my monthly billing will be expected to be around $56. Isn't it great to know?

About $56 is correct. Replying privately with the ugly details.

As for the tax rate %s, if anybody really wants to look inside the sausage factory, we've got a wealth of resources at https://www.sonic.com/taxesfees . The PUC has a proper knack for highly-precise and impenetrable use of acronyms.

Surprise! Surprise! Surprise! A noticeable and sudden $10 ( a significant 20 % increase from previous bill) was shown in my bill statement I just got this morning.

I was appalled when I saw the bill and can't help asking Why?

I look forward to hearing from Sonic to figure out this price hike without a advanced notice.

Many thanks for your assistance!

The price increase notification was included on your January invoice. If you aren't receiving your invoices we'll want to update the billing email address we have on file for you. You can make that change in Member Tools (log in to members.sonic.net then navigate to Account -> Billing Information -> Billing Options). Alternatively, I can make this change for you just PM me your preferred contact email address.

If you would like to join in the discussion regarding the price increase and / or provide feedback I urge you to do so in this thread - viewtopic.php?f=10&t=4122.

If it's any help, note that we haven't increased the price of this service in seven years - so this isn't a common occurrence.

Many thanks for Andrew and Dane's prompt response and assistance!

Everything has its both sides.

By looking at the bright side, in my experience, how can I expect from other companies within one hour to get a understandable reply (or replies) from a representative specialist and even a CEO?

Hope my contribution can help maintaining Sonic service quality :)

Have a great one!
