I signed up for sonic fiber. Called support to add Static IP as work require connections from a whitelisted IP. The answer was NO. This service is not available in Sonic Fiber. My questions to Sonic:
1- How will you compete with ATT, Comcast, …etc. in the Bay Area? Some companies offer Fiber and Static IPs for affordable prices.
2- It’s not a reasonable argument that (users doesn’t need it). The real answer is that, you cannot offer it. When will you have the capability to offer Static IPs?
Internet is becoming more and more available and affordable, many companies are offering the service and many more to come. You may think that a few technical people that want Static IPs. Remember that these are the ones that make youtube videos, and have millions of followers, ...etc. They can influence the majority of decision makers. I hope you listen to your customers before it’s too late.
Thank you
