Sonic on Mastodon social service?

I know Sonic has a couple of Twitter accounts. I did a quick search and couldn't find a Sonic account on Mastodon and wonder if Sonic has one or plans to create one, such as for status, on Mastodon.

No, it's not something we've really considered. It's unclear if it's going to be a significant network in the long term, and I'm also a bit uncomfortable myself with the federated concept, where each server admin has access to your traffic, including direct messages.

Then could sonic have their own mastodon server and allow their members to use it?
Not familiar with the concept maybe it's against the spirit of mastodon?

This had occurred to me as well although I have not looked into what's required yet.

Another option would be to just set up a bot to mirror sonic's twitter posts to an account on a mastodon server.
FWIW, the sfba.social server seems to be well-run, based on my brief time there.
