One of our non-Sonic email clients was the recipient of way more than 2k worth of unsolicited emails yesterday. The senders seemed to be real, most requesting us to register for the senders company services. While many were from companies locasted around the world, legitimate businesses with which we were already registered were included.
Our solution was to sort the inbox by Sender and checking Subject delete, delete, delete ….
Since the emails were to a non-Sonic addressee -and- were from legitimate senders, I don't know if SPAM ASSASSIN would have caught them.
My Idea:
Sonic Webmail needs a new tools/view/folder to process the INBOX, where email from users in the client's Personal CONTACTS list goes into one view or folder and AUTOMATICALLY COLLECTED Contacts into Another and those from unknown contacts, yet, another folder or view.
-AND- allow a specified Time-Date (email received) range to be processed.
The three folders should open "collapsed" sorted by SENDER and with collapsed counts and Date/Time rangers for the emails contained. Something like:
From ________________ Subject ______________ Count ______ mm/dd/yyyy - mm/dd/yyyy

The collapsed folders should allow the user the choices for the entire collapsed section to the tools [Delete, Labels, Mark, & More …] available to individual emails. Opening the collapsed folder would allow the normal individual email processing.
If this could be done on the INBOX folder without having to move the files it would simplify the user experience and allow/permit this tool to be used on other folders. And this tool should produce a "log file" similar to the inbox view but with what happened to the individual emails. Deleted, Moved, Archived (& deleted?), ? This last would be especially useful for businesses targeted by these types of DDOS (?) interruptions.
