My wife is heavy into Scouting. she has a folder that has all the emails she has sent and received from them over the years and it has put us over our "Storage Limit" . How can we transfer this folder from our email server to a separate hard drive?

if your emails are still on the server, and you want to archive them to a local drive, it really depends on your email client,
If you use outlook for example, and connect to the mail server in IMAP, you can create a storage file and move the emails from the imap account to the archive.
if the problem is the size of the mailbox, you may be able to sort by size and delete the largest messages after copying their attachments.

So sort your email by size decreasing, save the attachments and delete the emails from the server.
Do that in all folders include the "Sent" (what you sent).
Empty the trash folder if there is one.
If you are lucky a few very large emails is all it will take.

The other way is to use an email client and move the older emails to a folder that is not on the server.
