I have already dealt with this on my end, and had the cancelation reversed, but someone unknown to me was able to call into Sonic support, according to them, was pretending to be my wife, and canceled our account. I just wanted to ask, am I the only person this has happened to, and are calls recorded for quality assurance? Can the calls be listened to, and can I escalate this in any way?

My wife was asleep as was I at the time support said the call came in. I was notified only by the email asking for equipment return and notifying me our account had been canceled. I feel there should be a more formal process than this. Thanks!

Hi r0b,

Social engineering is exceedingly rare at Sonic. The security and privacy of your account is paramount, and I'm incredibly sorry that this happened.

Due to the sensitive nature of this incident, I'll be follow up with you via private message.
