Error message-RETR command

Recently started getting error messages "The RETR command did not succeed. Error retrieving a message. Mail server pop.sonic.net responded: Message # expunged." while downloading messages to my desktop. I get it several times a week. Called tech support who asked me to check some things but I'm still getting it.

Some friends have mentioned sending me messages that I never get.

Any help?

Do you have another email client or another service that has access to your mailbox?

I've only ever seen this situation when something else is accessing a mailbox. If I were experiencing it, I would change the password immediately.

Now that I've changed it, it will be interesting to see if I still get the messages.

Since changing the password, haven't received the error message. So problem appears to be resolved. So delighted for the help!

You're welcome. I'd guess that in the past you signed up for some sort of service does somehow processes or manages the email.

For example, a long time ago, I had a service that automatically logged into my mailbox and attempted to sort the messages into folders for me. I wasn't pleased with the results, and dropped the service (and changed the password).
