I have sonic fiber delivered through AT&T. How can I disable this dns error assist site that shows up when I type a malformed URL.
The page I get redirected to is: http://dnserrorassist.att.net/

Hi John,

I haven't been able to test this myself, but I will tonight when I get home. I found this link: https://gist.github.com/CollinChaffin/2 ... 502720ef00

Which gives a pretty concise walk through on disabling the DNS Error assist.

The instructions are based around logging into an AT&T account - which I don't have. What this suggests to me is that while Sonic is re-selling AT&T fiber, AT&T maintains the control over this DNS re-routing, and since I don't have an AT&T account, I can't opt out. What is Sonic's default DNS? Maybe I can set my AT&T supplied router to point to that DNS instead of whatever the router defaults to via AT&T's firmware?

Sonic doesn't support using their DNS with the resold ATT service. I found that the ATT DNS was slow and unreliable so I use OpenDNS, other people use Google.
