If you are connected to our Sonic gateway via Ethernet or wifi you can try going directly to the IP address:
192.168.42.1 or 192.168.42.1/admin
If you are on our IP Broadband service with an AT&T gateway you can try:
192.168.1.254
The password/access code will be labeled on the modem for access.
Where is the "advanced configuration" page for the gateway?

I've already tried the IP address, and already know my access code, and have typed it into a text file with all my other Sonic info. So that's not the problem...and I stll can't load the advanced configuration page. And yes, I'm home and connected to Sonic via ethernet /and/ wifi. I have no idea what the advanced configuration page is all about, but am curious.
Where are you running into problems? Are you able to load up our gateway settings page? Is it asking for a password?
The advanced configuration page for our Pace gateways can be found by clicking on Settings > Firewall > Advanced Configuration.
Advanced setup on our Smart RGs can be found on the left side of the gateway settings page.
You may find some use out of this article: https://help.sonic.com/hc/en-us/article ... al-Gateway

That's exactly the page I visited before posting my query here, to learn more about my new DSL service. And on that page, it says:
"Modem is accessed locally at http://gateway.sonic.net (http://192.168.42.1)"
But when I try to load that page, I get "server not found" or "unable to connect" whether I try http://gateway.sonic.net, or http://192.168.42.1.
Have you actually tried to load either link, yourself?

I have no idea where to find the "Settings" option. I've looked all over for it, can't find it. The Member Tools page doesn't show it, either. Can you provide a link, please?

Try power cycling/restarting the RG, make sure you are connected directly via wifi or Ethernet and not through a second router or wifi extender, and try to enter "192.168.42.1" by itself. If this still does not work there may be something we are missing. Connecting directly to the RG with an Ethernet cable should be the most straight forward approach but you may need to try a second cable. The RG may have some firmware issues or bus our support team may need to check.
If you are still stuck I suggest you give our support team a call at 707-547-3400. We close early for the Holidays today and tomorrow but our normal business hours are between 8am and 10pm 7 days a week.

Okay, I will go ahead and do that...I'm in no rush, just a newbie with Sonic and DSL, learning the ropes. Will post back soon, but not expecting any reply until after the 25th. Thanks!
Good news! I was finally able to load the advanced configuration page. Turns out my VPN was blocking access...don't know why, but there you have it. (Maybe it sees loading that page as an attempt to hack into one of my devices.) I checked out all the features, very interesting, lots of settings to explore but I didn't mess with anything there. Thanks again, Anthony.
