Since receiving more SPAM recently, I searched this forum and found the information on Spamcop. However, after reviewing the threads, it seems to me that the process for managing SPAM by the user is onerous and it doesn't appear to working effectively for users.

Out of curiosity, I saved some of the SPAM to text files. These files included the message header which lists the domain and IP address of the SPAM mail server. I then used online tools to check if it was flagged as known to having been and/or currently generating SPAM. Not surprisingly, the servers I checked were indeed flagged as actively generating SPAM currently.

Does the Sonic email system provide support for Real-time Blackhole Lists (RBL) or DNS-based Blackhole Lists (DNSBL)? If it does, this appears to be a more effective and timely solution compared to Spamcop and would also benefit all Sonic email users in contrast to the separate silos required for each user by Spamcop.

Please advise, thanks.

My spam has also increased recently. Today, a record 13 automatically went to my greymail box, and 3 made it to my inbox. Mostly about travel, swamp coolers, Alaska, debt, credit cards, plus ones seemingly from Fox News (yuck). They often have cryptic messages at the bottom of email. And, no, I never click on any links, especially "unsubscribe." I'm waiting for penile enhancement spam to start showing up which plagued me when I used earthlink, prompting my move to sonic. For years, sonic was great. NO SPAM!!!! Now they seem to be losing the spam war. 2-4 spam emails make it to my inbox daily. I move them to junk mail hoping to trigger sonic but not sure if that does anything. Blacklistig entries is useless as spammers constantly rename themselves. I did start adding to blacklist "subject" list... "swampcoolers" "debt" "alaska," but again, probably futile. For me this seemed to start from the day I forgot to set my browser (duck duck go) back to private browsing. Coincidence perhaps?

It's much less likely that your browser gave your email address to someone and more likely that someone to whom you provided your email address (whether a person or a business) shared it or didn't carefully safeguard it and it was filched during a data breach.

You can see if it was discovered during one of the major data breaches here: https://haveibeenpwned.com/
