That's certainly possible. I'm not going to solicit calls from that number to find out!

Just got a call from known spammers that you missed.

646-417-9501
Caller ID: CARD SERVICES

If you go here you can see all those that have complained.

There's also a bunch of information on "Rachel" and CARD SERVICES

The FTC's enforcement apparently hasn't stopped these spammers yet tho.

Here's a couple more that are slipping through the filter it seems. Thanks for keeping up with this... the nuisance calls are slowly disappearing!

1-714-495-4808
CallerID: "LOCAL OFFICE"

1-877-827-1439
CallerID: "TOLL FREE CALL"

Here's my input for call blocking. I waited until AFTER election day to weed out the political calls:

OPINION POLL 312-878-9722
LOSANGELES 213-375-3170
PTLM SWIFT 707-238-2008 ALTERNATIVE ENERGY COMPANY
LSAN DA 14 CA 323-580-5520 CHURCH OF SCIENTOLOGY
TOLL FREE CALL 866-616-3671

I think the black list will increase exponentially over time, and may eventually become ineffective. Fusion is not available in my area, but using my current VOIP, I have created a "Call Treatment" for unwanted solitations from telemarketers and a couple of annoying charities. The problem is no matter how many numbers I block (from the same charity), there always seems to be another from a different area code. Telemarkers are also getting around the anonymous call treatment by using a city and state as the caller ID name.

In addition to the Fusion black list, may I suggest this approach. When we see a suspicious, known or unknown caller ID, we press a key that initiates a busy signal or a one-time message, i.e. disconnected, no longer in service, does not accept anonymous calls, etc. Such messages might be Fusion defaults that could be changed by us, or we could add a message to an unused key. We would likely need instructions on how to incorporate this into our ATA Digitmap, or perhaps it would not be possible. Just a thought.

Dane, I love the concept of the statistical call blocking, but wonder if that could accidentally block things like "reverse 911" calls (shelter in place warnings, etc. broadcast to everyone in a neighborhood).

No, only confirmed telemarketing sources are blocked. Generally these are nameless organizations that do not respect the federal do not call listings.

Here's another number I hope can soon be added to the unsolicited call blocking list-

201-215-1712 caller ID US Bank

I've been getting calls from this number pretty much every weekday around 8pm and earlier in the day on weekends. No message is every left. And I'm not alone. Check this web blog http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-201-215-1712

It's not really US Bank, but some third party call center. The 201 area code is in New Jersey. I did a New Jersey US Bank search and there appears to be only one US Bank reference there and the phone number's area code is 732.

I'd like to submit a number for consideration for the blocking list: 888-234-9939

Caller Name shows as "TOLL FREE CALL."

It has called our Fusion line five times in the past four days (dates and times available upon request). Googling the number shows many reports on that number.
