what does anonymous call blocking do?

1) are "anonymous calls" calls all those for which there is no caller id? So, e.g., if my doctor calls from a "private number" that disallows caller id, is that an "anonymous" call?
2) if I enable blocking of anonymous calls, do they go to voice mail? Or are they also blocked from leaving messages? And, what does the caller hear?

Thanks.

How about you try and report ?
Dialing *67 before the number and # after the number should make it flag the call as caller id blocking.
Call your sonic line from your cell.
I suspect the call will be blocked and you won't be able to leave a voicemail either.
