Golly it would be nice to add call forking instead of just call forwarding. My building uses the landline number for the door and it would be great if anybody in my family can get the call to buzz in the delivery man.

Get a Google Voice number and configure it to call all the numbers, then give that number to your building management and ask to have that programmed into the door entry system.

Why can't all members of the family just answer the household's landline?

By call forking, do you mean a simultaneous ring to multiple destinations, where the call is delivered to whichever answers first?

google voice bridges calls AND is a party to all calls. NOT good for privacy.

any VPS/ITSP with simple PBX features will do it.

voip.ms
$1/mo + some fraction of a cent per minute

additionally if you use DTMF tones to buzz open a gate voipms , future9 , les.net can do that eliminating the human compnent for TRUSTED persons needing gate access

pick a VSP you like with DSLreports or similar

I only share because google is vile: routinely violating user privacy AS profit

or run PBX in a Flash on a Raspberry Pi ($35 hardware)
