I am in the market for a universal power supply (UPS) Does anyone have a suggestion for a specific brand from a specific supplier that is going to be used with Sonic's Optical network?

The U stands for uninterruptible not universal. Sonic uses PSI for their ONTs.

Apologies we didn't respond to this sooner. The UPS that Sonic provides to folks during installation is the Powertec Solutions International Model PS18L-32. If you want to go with a different make / model you'll want to make sure it provides a minimum of 75 watts and 125VA (volt amps).

APC and CyberPower are popular brands. Do you intend to get one for your ONT? You should get one as part of the subscription. Has that policy changed? You should also be aware UPS batteries have a limited service life of roughly 3-5 years.

Yes, the policy changed. When I got phone through Sonic I didn't realize the need for a UPS and didn't purchase it then. Can't purchase one from Sonic now.....
I'm a total newbie to this and that's why my question....
So a recommendation for a specific product from a specific supplier would be REALLY helpful...
Thanks

We can actually ship out the battery backup that we offer during installation. Installation is fairly simple, would just require you mounting the power supply however you'd like. If you would like us to send one out feel free to shoot me a private message! :)

Near as I can figure from the photos on the wiki, the UPS itself is PS18L-U2, and PS18L-32 is the battery inside it.

I have no experience with the following device, but it comes highly recommended: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NTQYUA8
