IPBB / ATA, hangups result in annoying busy signal.

Recently upgraded from a Fusion 1x to an IPBB with ATA (VOIP) adapter.

We use our own answering machine to screen calls. (It also gives us a message waiting indicator.)

When calls come in, the phone rings once, the machine quietly picks up. If they start to leave a message, we can screen it and either pick up or not. But when people hangup during the message, we now get a busy signal. Before we converted, we would get silence.

It's a bit annoying.

Are there any options to fix this?

I noticed the HT801 administration guide <https://documentation.grandstream.com/k ... ion-guide/> mentions:

Disconnect Methods: Busy Tone, Polarity Reversal/Wink, Loop Current

Hello,

This may just be digital service vs analog but we don't hear many customer complain about this. If you haven't already, try rebooting your ATA (telephone adapter) to see if this is a software issue. If the issue persists we do have a Voicemail answering service already included with our service that works perfectly without this annoyance. We can also assist you in determining the cause if you would like to call our support team. We hope this information helps. We look forward to hearing from you. Take care.
