When I first powered up my ATA, I was able to log in as admin via HTTP to the DHCP address and set the IP to the desired static address. I was also able to log in via ssh (below).

Once it has registered, while it kept the IP now ssh doesn't connect; HTTP connects and sends some HTML but the actual login page fails. I really don't want a device on my internal network that I cannot manage, that's bad for security and no one should be asked to allow it. What's going on and how do we fix it?

Also, that firmwere 10.0.11 is horribly old! Grandstream is past 10.0.35 now. Should I do a factory reset and update it myself?

I believe sonic installs a custom configuration that turns off the HTTP interface. They don't want users changing things.
Not having a web interface also allays some concerns about security. But I agree that it would be preferable to have an updated version of the firmware (or even better, not to require rental of the device).

As above, not only is the http interface disabled (and all of it, not just 'admin'; there's a 'viewer' login, too), but also ssh. And this is not documented nor known to tech support.

Anyway, why would anyone connect an otherwise unknown and uncontrollable device to their local network? (I can't think of a reason.)
