I've got the app on my iPhone and am trying to log in, but it says I have the wrong password. I've alwaysused the same password as my Sonic Account but it isn't working.

I've tried to reset the password online but that didn't work.

There isn't a 'forgot your password?' option on the app; it just says I should contact my service provider. When I called Sonic Tech Support they said they weren't able to give me any help and that I should post here.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

Hello,

I apologize for the confusion regarding our ability to support the Sonic Mobile Communicator. This is still a supported feature.

Since you are running into an issue with logging in the best thing to do is going to be the following.

1. Log into https://members.sonic.net on a desktop or laptop is easiest

2. Click the voice tab on the left hand side

3. Click your phone number under the Phone Number List section

4. You'll see a green and blue interface known as Commportal and locate View Account Settings near the bottom right corner

5. Click Change Password under the Security section

6. Enter your new password and confirm the password and make sure to click confirm.

7. You should then be able to log in with the new password on your Sonic Mobile Communicator App

Several issues here with Sonic Mobile Communicator login:
1. After using it for months, in the last couple of weeks it rejects my login credentials. When I called Sonic support, they said my iPhone is reformatting my phone number in one of the login fields from the 10 digits which I entered to (xxx) xxx-xxxx, which is why my logins fail. Side note: Actually, after I click to log in, I get a display from SMC asking me to enter my mobile phone number, but in about 1 second a pop-up appears saying my login authorization failed. When I click OK to go back to the login screen, I can see the phone number I entered now appears as (xxx) xxx-xxxx.
2. Today, Sonic support said SMC is not supported. But I see in the earlier comments about a similar problem that Sonic said it was supported.

My questions are:
1. Is SMC supported?
2. Is iOS really changing the format? I can't find any hints online that it might be doing that.
3. Is this really an iOS problem? Or is it an SMC problem?

Hello!

To answer your first question, yes Sonic Mobile Communicator is a supported product. As for IOS altering the format, it is very well possible. For example, it may be changing the first letter in your password to a capital. To identify whether SMC or IOS is the culprit, it would require more trouble shooting. If you would like me to set up a call back for you, please PM me and we will get that arranged. Alternatively, you can give us a call at 707-547-3400, 7 days a week, from 8:00am to 10:00pm.

Just for closure: Today, the problem went away all by itself. I was able to log on. So we don't really know what caused the problem, or what made it go away. At least it works.
