Using wide band codec for voip in sonic ONT

What codec are supported by the sonic provided ONT?
When a call is placed between two endpoints on its network and bandwidth is not an issue and hardware is controlled end to end could it use a full band or wide band codec?
That could also be used as a differentiator and help people use sonic voip service and complain less about not being able to not have it.

Our ONTs support both G.711 and G.729 voice codecs. G.711 supports wideband and is our preferred codec.

Thanks Spencer.

The adtran 411 datasheet reads g.711 (u law and a-law) and g.729
https://portal.adtran.com/pub/Library/D ... 01_411.pdf

g.711 is narrowband (300-3400Hz)
g.711.1 does support wideband
g.729 is also narrow band.

So is a call between two sonic members going to be on g.711.1 wideband?

I don't know much about VoIP, what happens if the other party is also VoIP and supports wideband? is there some kind of negotiation to use the best voice quality codec supported by both ends?

Thanks
