Keep in mind TV dishes look like they are pointed as much as 28* lower in elevation than the actual LOS, due to the LNB (signal collector) offset.

Also keep in mind that the dish doesn't have to be mounted on the roof, or even on your house. While height can make a significant difference in receiving over-the-air signals, a geosynchronous satellite is 22,000+ miles above the earth and so there is no difference at the receiving end whether the dish is at ground level or mounted at roof level.

If there is a spot in your yard near your house that has an unobstructed view of the sky in the correct direction, then the dish can be mounted there and the cables run into your house through buried conduit.
