(415) 049-6767
Ignored the ring.
Voicemail left by caller (woman) in what I think was Chinese language, seemed to be repeating the same few words many times.

Dead air and hangup -- not a normal number, and preceded by a longer which is not visible in my Sonic Voice Usage log:

Say, Sonic staff, a followup question.

I realize my suggestion that Sonic offer a "concierge" to answer the phone was wildly wishful thinking.

But could Sonic create a simple "bot challenge" akin to what Google does for blog posts?

Like this:
An automated voice that asks "Please prove you're a human being by answering a simple arithmetic question with an answer between 1 and 9, please use your phone keypad to respond. What is six plus two?"

and like this:

"Yes, six plus two is eight. Your call is now ringing at the number you dialed. If it is not answered, it may go to voicemail. If it does please leave your number so someone can call you back"
or
"Sorry, '1111' is not correct. Please leave your number at the beep and someone may call you back."

WARNING! 516-462-8285 is an organization pretending to be the IRS.

I refused to pick up the call, then called them from a Google Voice number. Call was answered quickly, and I heard the sounds of a large call center in the background, then a man said, "Internal Revenue Service. How can I help you?"

Both the FTC and the IRS invite consumer reports of scammers.

Does Sonic take care of that, or should we do it as individuals?
