Is Faxline different from the “Send a Fax” webpage?

Advanced feature discussion, beta programs and unsupported "Labs" features.

I just setup Faxline and it’s “being provisioned”. My understanding is one Faxline is free. But I just wanted to make sure the free number isn’t the webpage where one has been able to send faxes for a few years now. Or did I accidentally order an extra paid service?

The Send-A-Fax tool is doesn't require any extra setup, since it's always sending from the same number - you provide a document (and optionally a cover letter), then it sends it along to the number of your choosing.

The FaxLine option sets up a phone number for you that, when a fax is sent to it, converts it into a form that is emailed to you - this is commonly known as 'Virtual Fax', since there's a 'virtual' fax machine. As a courtesy, you get one free FaxLine if you have a connectivity (Internet access) service with us.
