Thanks for checking.

The '--no-use-agent' is obsolete. bolt has gpg v1 installed. I would appreciate a v1 gpg on the new shell server or some black magic to make gpg 2 work.

Thanks!

I get "Operation not permitted" no matter where I attempt to create the socket:

Ah, that is due to home directories being mounted with sshfs, which doesn't support Unix sockets. I will take a look at this, have some ideas how to fix it.

Try it now, should be fixed.

I had to build gnupg without the option that puts the agent socket in the home directory -- it lives in /tmp. (Since each login has their own /tmp in their own chroot environments, that won't be a problem.)

gnupg is still trying to create the socket under my home directory...

sh$ gpg-agent -v --daemon
+ gpg-agent -v --daemon
gpg-agent[6180]: error binding socket to `/home/e/etnahouse/.gnupg/S.gpg-agent': Operation not permitted

"ssh: connect to host sh.sonic.net port 22: Connection refused"

It appears to be down tonight; access has been good for weeks.

Hi,

This was a planned outage for maintenance that eventually became an unplanned outage when the host didn't come back from a reboot.

You can always check our Sonic Status site to see about any known outages, and feel free to subscribe to our MOTD mailing list in Member Tools by going to Account / Sonic.net System Messages, and then clicking on the Subscribe button on that page.

Fixed.

If that happens again, you can get it to work by passing the option "--no-use-standard-socket" to gpg-agent, e.g.
gpg-agent -v --daemon --no-use-standard-socket

This is safe, since each user has their own /tmp directory, in their own chroot, on a filesystem that one can use for Unix sockets.
