I have two devices that I've installed Sonic's VPN service on for a recent trip we took. The one on my cell phone running Jelly Bean 4.3 connected without a hitch; the Samsung Tab A running Lollipop 5.0.2 never connected during the trip (two different wifi services were involved). The log shows repeated errors "Transport error: socket_protect error (UDP) and the same for TCP during the one minute it attempted to connect. It makes many more attempts at the UDP (1194) than the TCP (443)--in case that matters.

I've looked online for answers but found nothing--or if I found the answer I didn't recognize it--I'm not knowledgeable about VPNs--I just want to connect safely to the internet while traveling.

When I originally installed this it worked on my home network. I uninstalled it from both devices, then later re-installed it. I can't remember if I tested it again on the tablet, but it currently doesn't work on my home wifi either.

I'd appreciate help resolving this issue. Thank you.

Just thought I'd post this in case someone else has the same issue. I uninstalled OpenVPN from the tablet, then turned it off. After I re-started it I installed OpenVPN again, then followed the Sonic VPN wiki install for Android instructions and it now works on my home wifi. I haven't been out to try it on a public wifi yet but the fact it works on my home wifi is encouraging.
