Fax Tool Sends Unreadable Fax

On Nov. 14th for the first time I tried Sonic.net's "Send a Fax" tool to send a short one-page letter I'd created as a PDF file. My fax was sent to a health care organization, which today returned to me a copy of the completely unreadable fax they had received. Along with this copy was attached the following comment: "We regret the intent of your correspondence is unclear." My PDF file is perfectly clear and readable, but the "Send a Fax" tool didn't even give me the option to preview my fax before it was sent. This tool appears to be unreliable and should therefore not be used to transmit important documents.

Could you be more specific, what exactly constitutes "completely unreadable"?

By regular mail was returned to me a paper copy of the fax I had sent using the "Send A Fax" tool. The text of my letter appears as dark black smears that make the words virtually undecipherable. My signature is slightly better but still basically unreadable. If I didn't know my last name I would not have been able to determine it from this copy of my original fax. If a Sonic.net administrator would like to see what it looks like, I'd be happy to scan this copy, save it in whatever format you prefer and send it to you as an e-mail attachment.

Mark, if you could email me the original pdf to along with a scan of whatever you got back from them, that would be great. I've actually been working on the pdf->fax conversion process so it's a good time to look into it.

I've done as you requested. I hope that helps. Thanks!
