Recommendation for VNC for shell users

VNC (virtual network computing) is a graphical desktop sharing system that allows users to access their accounts as if they were sitting at a console connected directly to the computer/server. I have used VNC to connect to a Unix-type server and use the X Windows System (X). I would like to see Sonic.net provide this type of connectivity to Sonic.net users who have shell accounts. Any chance this might happen?

Thanks!

In a word, no.

Remote X services would be substantially more resource intensive.

How about setting up crafty Samba shares that folks can mount remotely?

We've been talking about this actually - I'm not sure if Samba is flexible enough (and secure) to do what we'd need it to do but we should be able to support webdav.
