Question: Will another ATT branded U-verse/ADSL 2+ modem sync on an FTTN line even if it won't authenticate or pass IP traffic?

TLDR: Current original modem won't sync, standard TS/remote testing done. Likely bad modem or physical issue on line.

Background/details:
Lost sync on my Pace 5031nv, power cycling results in green LED slow blink on broadband as the modem is attempting to sync, with one or two red blinks shortly after power cycle then just green slow, unfortunately I've not seen it rapid green blink at all.

Support put in a ticket with ATT and standard no trouble found on remote testing, dispatch scheduled for next Saturday.

Swapped orginal 2 pair RJ11 cable for a new sub 6ft RJ11 connecting on inside pair. No visible physical damage to wall jack. Doesn't appear MPOE has been changed, minor copper corrison on binding posts, but I don't think it's enough to prevent sync.

I'm aware another ATT branded Uverse/ADSL varraint modem won't pass traffic or work, unless that's changed, but will it sync? So at least I'll know if my modem is bad.

Thanks for the assistance and reading this far :)

To the best of my personal knowledge, a different-but-compatible Uverse router SHOULD show sync if the FTTN line is in working order.
