speeds i can expect in san Lorenzo

Hello,

I thinking of dropping ATT for sonic.net. I was wondering what speeds i can expect in San Lorenzo. website says im about 10,000 feet away.

It is impossible to estimate what speeds you can get at any given location, but you can take a look at the chart at http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r269108 ... ance-chart that can give you some rough estimates. It won't be any slower than what you have now through AT&T.

The scatter plot further down on that thread illustrates that nicely -- while the averaged plot gives about 4.5 mbps at your distance, the data points themselves range from 1 to 7 mbps.

To the OP, for what it's worth, I'm around 10,600 ft from the CO and I'm more or less stable at 3 mbps down and 640 kbps up. The techs I've spoken with indicate that this is typical for the distance. Incidentally, that's one of the big pluses with getting service through Sonic -- all the support staff I've spoken with there have been very knowledgeable and helpful.
