I've been a Fusion broadband customer for more years than I can count at this point. I'm using the bonded-DSL product, and currently get about 11Mbps from each of the two lines for a total of ~22-23Mbps due to being somewhat far from the "local office". The fact that I'm living in the middle of the Silicon Valley and can only get those speeds just kills me (my parents live in the middle of nowhere and can get gigabit fiber).

I noticed recently that both Sonic.net and AT&T are advertising that I can get FTTN and 75Mbps. Is this a different product than what I currently have? Is there now a DSLAM which is closer to my home which can provide me with quicker access, or is the 75Mbps just hopeful about my current setup?

FTTN/IPBB is a different product as it is a resold AT&T U-verse that Sonic provides. They use different equipment and a different connection point so the 75mbps you are offered is what you will be getting.

You are currently on our Fusion line and are connected to our DSLAM which is why you are getting those speeds.

Moving over to FTTN/IPBB means troubleshooting is done by Sonic support but an ATT tech will be coming out for the install and for any maintenance that is needed.

You also never need to call or talk to ATT about your service as it goes though us and we communicate with them.
