Generally we install service in three to five working days. But you wouldn't have to renew that contract, just let it lapse to month to month for a few weeks if it came to that.

BTW, as a current customer, did you NOT get an email notice from us informing you that the upgrade was now available? That'd be odd, and something we should look into.
As a current customer, I did NOT receive the email notice about fiber being available. I only found out by manually checking the member tools to see if an upgrade was possible.

No I never got any email about it, I just was periodically checking in hopes I'd see it as an option. I definitely want to go to fiber at the first opportunity so please please let me know when =).

I have not received any email about upgrading; I've been a fusion customer forever. PLEASE make sure I get an email letting me know I can schedule the install as soon as it is available. I'll keep checking the upgrade options as well. Since it seems "imminent" I will switch to Dish's flex plan which has no contract. That way I can still have service while I make sure the fiber is working the way I need and get my streaming gear set up.

Okay, sorry for the confusion - I ran this down and have worked out the details on your situation.

You are located on a street which we'd initially been unable to reach, due to an undergounding project on the main street to the South of you. But we found a new route to reach you from the North, and we're now engaged in the process of building to reach your street - as well as four other streets which are to the west of you. Combined, these streets make up a new FDA 62 in the Panther (Albany/Kensington/North Berkeley) project. FDA 62 in that project has a projected go-live date today of 8/1/2019, so a bit over five months from now.

So, please stick with us! And remember, you can always let your DISH service lapse to month-to-month, you don't have to make a long term commitment. Or heck, stream YouTubeTV or HuluTV via your existing circuit - as long as it's 6Mbps or faster (times the number of devices you plan to view on simultaneously), it should work fine!

Ahhh...not until Fall, oh well. How long do I have to not be a Dish customer to do the bundle with Sonic? And where can I see the channel lineup/pricing if I do bundle? It might be an "opportunity" to set myself up as a "new" dish customer, lol. One bright side...

One year gap.

But really, go to streaming TV, it’s cheaper and SO much more flexible.

Sling has a free one week trial, you can try it out now at http://Sling.tv/sonic

I don't think I've got enough speed right now, on wifi barely just barely 10Mbps and that would get split with one person downloading while another streams tv, so not great. Hoping that will improve a lot with Fiber. If not, then I'd have to run wired connections. Old house, lath & plaster in some walls, although it's not a large space, that's the best I can get on 5ghz. My profile page says I an getting 15Mbps, but I'm assuming that is ethernet. Fiber should get me 2-3x at least, I hope =).

Why is Talbot Avenue left out of the party?

There are guys in trucks out on my street today and they said they just finished up in Berkeley and are not putting up "something" on the poles for the fiber connection!!! They said once that is done, then they come back to run the fiber. Not sure how long that process will take but I am SOOOOO happy to see it starting =). Maybe we'll even get it before August (Dane's estimate). As someone who gets barely 10Mbps right now on wifi, you can imagine the anticipation. YAY SONIC!!!

It's already served today. Apparently it had a crossing over Solano Ave that was determined to be viable much earlier in the process, during initial engineering. The other streets required some additional efforts to reach.
