Lately, Speedtest.net has been reporting 400-500 mbit/sec download, but 800-900 upload. Interestingly, the downloads would start fast then slow down, while the uploads would steadily increase in speed. I did my own download tests with similar results (starts around ~650 but drops to ~520).

These tests were in the dead of night, so I don't think the network is saturated with Netflix streams (though I could be wrong!) Initially our service was more symmetrical, so I don't know what's changed.

There's another web-based speed test that's run by Netflix: https://fast.com

Using speedtest.net on my new (not yet fully optimized) fiber installation, I was getting ~350 down and 500 up consistently. Switching to fast.com gave consistently ~900 up and down. Of course it always varies, but I recommend trying fast.com as a second opinion.

Thanks! I just tried it and got 880/920 -- much better!

Hmm, even Speedtest has improved this morning, so maybe Dane snuck into town and cleaned my fiber connection.
