Sonic.net

Hello,
I was very excited to see that on Monday there was Sonic.net survey crews working and marking the sidewalks on my street in Santa Rosa.
Next day they left a Green Sonic.net door tag explaining they will be building during the next 10 days on my street to bring fiber to our neighborhood (Yay!).

Today I called sonic to place my pre-order and they said they had no idea what I was talking about. That they have no info about fiber coming to my street and said it was probably a mistake but I could call back to check later.

So, was I just too early?

My questions are:
Are we getting it or was it truly a mistake?
If we are, what is the ETA?
Is it ATT fiber branded as Sonic or Sonic Fiber?
Can I place my Pre Order now or when?
Will I qualify for the new customer promos including the $200 Contract "Buy Out" ?
The reason I ask this is because I have been a sonic.net customer for over 10 years but I have an "email only account" because after i moved a while back there was no fast internet choices offered by you for my address but I retained my "paid email only account". I recently got Gigabit from Comcast and if you offer Gigabit I am definitely jumping their ship.

You should be able to pull my account based on my forum username as itmatches my sonic.net account, or if you need my address let me know.

It is most likely us building dark fiber for the nearby school.

This is the information that I currently know and can point it to as we do not have a confirmed fiber build out for residential customers at this time.

Since it was one of our Sonic tags letting you know about the construction it wouldn't be ATT either.

So, as I sit here in the dark I ponder...

Last week some "workers" hit a gas line and PGE and Fire Department had to come out, evacuate half a block and close the street.

TODAY some "workers" hit an underground power line and half the neighborhood has been without power since 3pm (ETA to restore is 4am).

Normally it would just be mildly annoying, but knowing we are probably getting nothing out of this makes it hard to swallow....

I am not certain if it was your construction workers, but you are the only one we know about.

If it wasn't I apologize but if it was please be more careful.

Yes, I’m told that PG&E failed to mark their lines, and as a result they were hit by a contractor working for Sonic. I’m sorry for the inconvenience!

When these sort of utility strikes occur, it is very costly, so we hope and expect that PG&E will exercise more care in the future.
