Also, I route through a home router, so my modem's IP is not available to me from the internal network (so far as I can tell). Are you only talking about situations where people connect their modem directly to their computer or a switch, so the modem is the gateway?

It seems to be working alright now... I will wait awhile and see if the problem returns. I continue to have challenges with speed with download at 0.18mbps and upload at 0.31. I also tried to access the modem information as suggested above at: http://gateway.sonic.net/ - but received the "Oops...could not find..." message. Is this the best speed I can now expect?

We are having incredibly slow speeds this evening as well. Since about 10:45pm. No complex streaming or data heavy processes happening--just light web browsing. What's up? Thanks
Well, of it happens a bit prior to 11pm, do ring support. Otherwise, call them the next day, they do have historical connection and error graphs to assist in troubleshooting.
