I'm a graphic designer. I've been a Sonic customer for 18 years and brought many of my clients to Sonic for website hosting.

My new, non-tech client wants me to build a website for her. She gets her Internet/phone service from somewhere other than Sonic. I told her to go to Sonic and set up an account so we can get started with hosting her website..

Turns out that is impossible. It appears that one cannot establish any kind of account with Sonic without first buying an Internet plus phone package.

This is nonsense. And for the first time in 18 years of recommending Sonic to others, I'm thinking about moving my own account elsewhere.

I'm pretty sure that's wrong (new employee on support?).
Dane posted something to the contrary not long ago, I vaguely recall.

I believe we stopped accepting new just Hosting customers a 3-4 years ago. As a telecom we have been focusing on the phone and internet portion of our services.

Well, that just seems wrong to me.
