Awesome! As a current Sonic customer, you’ll be notified to schedule the migration to fiber just as soon as we complete construction.

Long time lurker, but just this hour saw the Bronco trucks stringing fiber in front of my house on Sacramento Street. Hopefully not long now!

Sonic Fiber on Jefferson Ave!

This morning, I saw a crew and and a bucket truck proceeding north on Jefferson between Bancroft and Allston, lashing fiber cable to the steel messenger that had been installed previously. By the time I left for work, they'd turned west onto Allston and headed toward the LCP on the corner of Allston and California, lashing as they went.
Progress!

ChrisW. Thanks for the update! There was also a crew installing an LCP box at Bancroft & California (though not on the pole specified by the posted notice -- they're actually installing it across the street).

lefish. Sounds like FDA 27B is making progress too. Congratulations.

That's funny about relocating the LCP box. That might be why it wasn't installed sooner, what with re-engineering and probably Public Works discussions. I wonder what the problem was with the original pole.

@ChrisW, if I had to guess, it would be that it was poorly located right outside the neighbor's window, and/or right under a streetlight which would have interfered with the light coverage on the street below.

@lefish. Or someone may have decided that the pole was too crowded. Bottom line, though, is that a solution was found, agreed on, and implemented, and FDA 27B moves forward. A refreshing change from the stalemates of the recent past.

I see what appears to be a shiny new splitter cabinet up at the SE corner of MLK and Stuart! And saw cherry pickers working the line at MLK and Parker this morning! Looks like the fiber is making it's way towards us in FDA 32C finally.

FDA 32C....FDA 27B....

Can someone point me to a map, or equivalent resource, that would reveal the boundaries of the areas folks are using to discuss the fiber deployment?

Thank you in advance!

hello!

What is the status with Sonic on Dwight Way between Shattuck Ave and Milvia St?

Basically right across from Alta Bates Summit Medical Center.

Thank you in advance for responding!
