email sent? Ajax interface

Hi all,
I'm new to Sonic by about a week and a half. I have 3 email mailboxes at present.
'Problem is when I hit "send" the screen does a little refresh thing, but nothing tells me it has in fact been sent. When I check the "sent" folder, there is nothing there. And sometimes there is. The email might show up in the sent folder the next day, or not. The message will have got to its destination.
Any ideas for me?
